Speech and Language Pathologist II - Augmentative Communication. This is an onsite position in Waltham, MA. Compensation is not specified. Boston Children's Hospital's Augmentative Communication Program (ACP) is seeking a specialist in Augmentative and Alternative Communication. The purpose of this role is to conduct comprehensive evaluations and interventions for individuals with complex communication needs, utilizing current assistive technology.
What you'll do
- Conducting AAC related research and/or developing AAC related projects within the scope of this clinical position is encouraged. Clinicians in the ACP are strongly encouraged to develop their own areas of clinical interest related to AAC assessment and intervention that supports the mission of the program.
- Comprehensive evaluation and management of pediatric communication disorders that reflect an in-depth understanding of a child’s speech, language, and communication profile and needs.
- Providing parent/caregiver education and counseling regarding diagnoses and follow-up services and referrals.
- Completing timely and thorough documentation related to patient caseload including comprehensive evaluation reports, treatment plans, daily treatment notes, and therapy discharge summaries.
- Working in collaboration and partnership with physicians, speech-language pathologists, and other health care and educational professionals.
- Maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge and education via continuing education pursuits. Participating in Program meetings, committees, and projects.

- Master’s degree in Speech Pathology or a closely related field
- Experience
- 2 or more years of directly related clinical experience strongly preferred
