Electrical Design Intern

The Electrical Design Intern role is onsite in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Compensation is not specified. The intern supports Mericle Construction’s Electrical Design team and its project planning, permitting, and construction work. The role exists to help develop and maintain electrical construction documents while providing hands-on exposure to electrical design, drafting, and coordination. By assisting with drawings, calculations, documentation, and coordination across construction disciplines, the intern contributes to accurate project materials and helps identify drawing conflicts.

What you'll do

• Assist with electrical system drawings and layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software
• update and maintain drawings and project documentation
• apply drafting and design standards
• help prepare lighting layouts and photometric studies
• assist with electrical and lighting load calculations and schedules under supervision
• maintain electrical base-building documentation
• coordinate with construction disciplines to identify drawing conflicts
• incorporate field markups into as-built drawings
• perform assigned duties and special projects.
