The Electrical Engineer — Transmission Line, Power & Energy role is onsite in Chicago, IL. Pay is $100,000–$145,000 per year plus bonus. The position supports Atwell’s Power & Energy group, which delivers utility-scale transmission, substation, and renewable interconnection projects. The role exists to lead overhead and underground transmission-line engineering from feasibility through construction, producing coordinated design packages and supporting utility clients and project delivery.

What you'll do

• Lead overhead and underground transmission-line design deliverables from feasibility through issued-for-construction
• select routes, design criteria, structures, and cables
• model overhead lines and prepare staking sheets and construction details
• engineer underground routes, duct banks, cable ratings, grounding, pulling calculations, and construction details
• apply NESC, ASCE, IEC-based, and utility standards
• coordinate with substation, civil, structural, geotechnical, environmental, permitting, and right-of-way teams
• support construction through RFIs, drawing reviews, site walks, energization, and as-builts.

Why this role
