The Software Development Engineer III – Test Infrastructure role is onsite in Mountain View, CA, five days per week. The listed annual base salary range is $142,000–$184,000 USD. The Quality Engineering team builds testing infrastructure for ID.me’s digital identity and commerce platform. The engineer develops automation frameworks and testing systems that help engineering teams release software quickly and safely. The role strengthens test coverage, production validation, and reliability across identity services and consumer commerce experiences.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright, Python, Jest, and API automation
• develop end-to-end and integration tests for distributed systems
• support canary deployments, progressive rollouts, synthetic monitoring, and automated rollback
• maintain automation for commerce and marketplace experiences
• integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines
• use AI tools for test authoring, planning, and code review
• collaborate on testability and coverage
• debug issues across frontend, backend, APIs, and distributed services
• track reliability metrics.
