The Behavioral Science Specialist / Psychiatric Technician role is onsite in San Antonio, TX, at JBSA locations including Lackland, Fort Sam Houston, and Five Points. The technician provides direct behavioral health patient care and clinical support, contributing to assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and patient safety. The role works with multidisciplinary teams and community agencies to support patient progress and continuity of care.

What you'll do

• Assist with patient treatment and rehabilitation, assessments, interviews, mental status examinations, and evaluations
• identify mental health and nursing diagnoses and provide patient education
• observe, document, and report patient progress
• assist with counseling and therapeutic activities
• take precautions to prevent injury or suicide
• support hygiene, nutrition, comfort, and vital-sign recording
• coordinate referrals and care with military and community agencies
• maintain treatment and specialty-service records
• assist individuals experiencing acute and post-traumatic stress reactions.

Why this role
