What you'll do

• Prepare menu items using approved recipes and production guidelines
• prepare food in advance
• estimate quantities, control portions, and minimize waste
• serve regular, mechanical-soft, puréed, and other required diets
• prepare snacks three times daily
• monitor food temperatures
• receive and store deliveries
• maintain clean work areas
• follow infection-control and food-safety practices
• assist or supervise tray aides as assigned
• communicate relevant changes in resident behavior or food intake to nursing staff.
