Dental Surgery Assistant

Under direct supervision, the assistant supports surgeons and patients during outpatient procedures by preparing the patient and surgical setup, assisting during treatment, documenting care, and supporting pre- and post-operative education.

What you'll do

• Prepare patients, instruments, supplies, and equipment for outpatient procedures
• function as a surgical scrub technician
• place IVs and assist with medication administration as directed
• pass instruments and supplies
• document procedural notes in the EMR
• provide pre- and post-operative education
• capture CBCT and panoramic X-rays
• sterilize equipment and assemble surgical trays
• maintain OSHA, DHEC, and HIPAA requirements.
