The Health Counselor — CHAMP Helpline role is hybrid in New York, New York, with at least two onsite days and three remote days per week. Compensation is $46.92 per hour. The counselor provides consumer assistance through the CHAMP Helpline, helping callers understand coverage and pursue access to care. The role also supports appeals and authorization processes, maintains case records, and helps identify systemic practices that adversely affect consumers.

What you'll do

• Respond to live CHAMP Helpline calls, including extended hours until 7 p.m. approximately once per week
• assist with grievances, complaints, appeals, hearings, and coverage denials
• help collect and evaluate documents for prior authorization requests, peer-to-peer reviews, and appeals
• provide insurance and care-access information and navigation
• maintain case records
• identify systemic trends with CSS staff and stakeholders.
