Senior Electrical Engineer, Power Systems

The Senior Electrical Engineer role is onsite in Defiance, OH; compensation is not specified. The engineer serves as the project and site subject matter expert for electrical and power systems supporting large capital expansion projects. This role leads electrical design and project execution from equipment design and installation through commissioning, startup, and operational support. It also helps maintain reliable, efficient operations by coordinating across engineering, maintenance, and operations and identifying equipment, material, and process improvements.

• Prepare equipment and project scope documents
• review power and control engineering designs
• support equipment purchasing and energy-efficient design
• maintain project schedules
• lead and participate in commissioning and startup
• provide ongoing operational support
• mentor and influence engineering, maintenance, and operations representatives
• identify and implement machine, material, and process improvements.

Why this role

Requires 7–10 years in manufacturing or heavy industry; BSEE preferred. Experience with NEC/NFPA 70 and 70E, high- and low-voltage distribution, motor control centers, variable speed drives, and large capital projects is relevant; ABB and Siemens drives are a plus.
