The Cost Estimator — NAVFAC Northwest Design Support role is onsite in Silverdale, WA, supporting work in the Puget Sound area. Compensation is not specified. The position supports Design Technical Support services for NAVFAC Northwest’s Planning Design and Construction Directorate, Design Division. The estimator develops and reviews facilities cost information for Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects. The role helps the government client and project teams manage scope, budgets, schedules, risks, and technical reviews in accordance with project and customer requirements.

What you'll do

• Prepare basis-of-cost documentation and conduct industry and market research
• perform cost, schedule, and risk analysis and crew projections
• complete quantity take-offs and constructability reviews
• conduct life-cycle cost analysis
• coordinate project scope, schedules, budgets, and reporting
• create technical dashboard reports using Microsoft Power BI, Project, Excel, and related software
• research codes, policies, procedures, criteria, and regulations
• review technical reports, designs, changes, submittals, and contractor cost proposals
• support commissioning plan reviews, field inspections, and construction activities
• prepare reports, requests for proposals, scopes of work, meeting minutes, and briefings
• provide weekly and monthly project status reports.
