Archaeological Field Technician

Job overview

The Archaeological Field Technician role is field-based and onsite in Albuquerque, NM, with travel to remote project locations required up to 100% of the time, including overnight stays. Compensation is $22.55–$27.00 per hour; per diem and lodging are provided for field assignments requiring overnight travel. Environmental Research Group supports cultural resource management projects and work to conserve and protect the environment.

What you'll do

• Conduct archaeological data-recovery excavations under senior staff supervision
• additional surveys, shovel testing, and excavation may be assigned
• document field observations with notes, maps, and photographs
• assist with artifact identification, processing, and cataloging in field and lab settings
• follow safety protocols and ethical standards
• maintain field equipment and participate in briefings and debriefs.
