Geotechnical Driller

Job overview

The Geotechnical Driller role is onsite in Orlando, FL, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Pay is $26–$36 per hour, commensurate with experience and certifications. The role supports SOCOTEC’s geotechnical investigations and its consulting work in architecture, engineering, and construction. The role exists to obtain soil samples and density measurements through test borings, while supervising a drill rig crew and maintaining equipment so field investigations can be completed and documented accurately.

What you'll do

• Operate mud rotary wash and auger drill rigs
• train and direct drillers’ helpers
• drive drill rigs or support vehicles safely
• interpret utility markings and locate boring locations
• assist with site clearing
• maintain and repair drilling equipment and vehicles
• keep detailed field records
• classify soils and prepare boring logs.
