Aquatics Keeper

The Aquatics Keeper role is onsite in Nashville, TN. Compensation is $16.10–$21.10 per hour. The position is part of Nashville Zoo’s Aquatics Department, supporting its mission of inspiring understanding and discovery of the natural world through conservation, innovation, and leadership. The keeper cares for assigned aquatic collection animals and maintains their habitats and water systems. Through feeding, observation, water-quality monitoring, cleaning, and recordkeeping, the role supports animal welfare, exhibit integrity, and a safe visitor environment.

What you'll do

• Prepare and provide animal diets and supplements
• monitor animal appearance and diet consumption
• interpret water-quality parameters
• maintain records in ZIMS
• clean exhibits, enclosures, and service areas
• participate in capturing, incapacitating, and moving animals
• assist veterinary staff with treatment
• maintain exhibit security
• clean and disinfect tools and containers
• operate light and medium equipment.
