What you'll do

• Assess residents at unit admission and discharge
• develop and implement care plans
• supervise nursing personnel and assign duties to LPNs and nursing assistants
• make daily rounds
• document care and review charting for accuracy
• coordinate with therapy and nursing departments
• support discharge planning
• address staff, resident, and family grievances with the Director of Nursing
• arrange replacement staff for shortages
• supervise or perform treatments and venipunctures as needed
• fill in as Charge Nurse when necessary
• monitor infection-control and resident-care trends
• maintain confidentiality and protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse.
