What you'll do

• Operate optical manufacturing equipment and precision hand tools
• fabricate, assemble, treat, and handle lenses
• select lens blanks, molds, tools, and wheels
• mount lenses in machines and operate polishing equipment
• inspect lenses for flaws, smoothness, and coating thickness
• clean finished lenses and eyeglasses
• follow prescriptions and work orders
• meet quality and output standards
• follow lab and safety procedures.
