CATV Field Walkout Engineer

Job overview

The CATV Field Walkout Engineer role is field-based, with nationwide assignments and 100% nationwide travel. Compensation is $52,000–$100,000 per year. The engineer documents new and existing cable plants through field walkouts, producing accurate route information and records for telecommunications infrastructure. This work supports customer specifications and the planning and documentation of cable-system projects.

What you'll do

• Perform new-build walkouts and as-built mapping
• document accurate routes for existing or new cable plants
• collect and record field information for aerial and underground telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber, coax, poles, and pedestals
• follow customer and industry specifications
• update as-built field prints with equipment and information gathered in the field.
