The Associate — Discovery Protein Science Laboratory role is onsite in South San Francisco, CA, with compensation of $20–$22 per hour. The role supports Discovery Protein Science through molecular-biology, cloning, DNA-production, and sequencing workflows. The role exists to help project teams produce high-quality DNA reagents and sequence-verified constructs. It contributes by carrying out established laboratory procedures, maintaining accurate records, supporting routine lab readiness, and collaborating with scientists to meet project timelines and changing research priorities.

What you'll do

• Execute DNA-production workflows, including Maxipreps, Gigapreps, and automated 96-well plasmid DNA minipreps
• quantify DNA using 96-well instruments such as NanoDrop and Lunatic
• perform PCR to generate linear expression cassettes
• conduct cloning activities including ligation, transformation, colony picking, and minipreps
• support high-throughput sequencing and sequence reverification
• document procedures, observations, and results in LIMS and electronic laboratory systems
• prepare media
• manage reagent and consumable inventory, kit and restriction-enzyme tracking, and liquid-nitrogen tank refilling
• collaborate with scientists and cross-functional partners
• follow laboratory safety, sterile-technique, and operational-compliance requirements.
