What you'll do
- Interpret blueprints and lay out metal structural parts
- verify material compatibility with specifications
- mark reference lines and hole locations
- position and align parts with rigging assistance and fitting tools
- install temporary fasteners, gaskets, liners, and structural accessories
- remove high spots and cut bevels
- use metal shears, brakes, band saws, and other tools
- may tack-weld clips and brackets or shape heavy metal parts.
