The Residential Counselor — Overnight Shelter Shift is an onsite role in Lowell, MA, scheduled every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Pay is $20.59–$21.21 per hour, with eligibility for a $3.00-per-hour overnight shift differential. Community Teamwork works to foster equity, compassion, and community engagement through housing, education, and economic opportunities. Working in the Shelter Staff program, the counselor supports people staying at a congregate emergency shelter and helps maintain safe, orderly site operations. The role combines client support and intake with crisis response, documentation, and enforcement of program expectations using a trauma-informed, client-centered approach.

What you'll do

• Support shelter guests with life skills and daily structure
• assist with screening, intake, and orientation
• explain schedules, rules, and policies
• oversee site safety and security
• respond to emergencies and initiate crisis intervention
• document incidents and case activity
• complete housekeeping and ensure chores are done.
