Job overview

The Literacy Facilitator – South Site role is hybrid and based in south Charlotte, NC. It is part-time, scheduled for 20–25 hours per week, with afternoons from 2:00–6:00 p.m.; Monday–Thursday are onsite and Friday is remote for administrative work. Compensation is $20–$30 per hour. ourBRIDGE for KIDS works to foster the acculturation, education, and well-being of newly arrived refugee and immigrant children and their families. The facilitator teaches literacy and English as a Second Language using interactive, hands-on, and relationship-based learning. The role supports student growth through individualized and small-group instruction, assessments, adapted lessons, accurate records, and year-end progress reports.

What you'll do

  • Implement literacy and ESL curriculum for culturally diverse students with varied skill levels
  • provide individual and small-group instruction
  • prepare interactive, game-based, and hands-on learning activities
  • assess student progress at the beginning, midpoint, and end of the program
  • maintain attendance, assessment records, and documentation
  • collaborate with school and organization staff
  • adapt lesson plans
  • submit year-end student progress reports
  • observe organizational policies and safety procedures.
