Senior Help Desk Specialist

The Senior Help Desk Specialist role is hybrid, with three days per week in the Gloucester, MA office. Compensation is negotiable based on experience, location, and certification. The role supports NOAA affiliates and the commercial fishing community through the Technology and Data Management Division. The specialist provides advanced IT support and serves as a technical escalation point for mission-critical systems. The role helps maintain continuity by resolving user issues, supporting applications and equipment, documenting processes, and assisting users with data and technology tools.

What you'll do

• Provide Tier 2/3 support for hardware, software, network access, and applications
• support NMFS web and mobile applications
• configure and maintain government-furnished IT equipment
• support Oracle database connectivity and SQL Developer configuration
• create documentation, job aids, training materials, and tutorials
• track IT assets and equipment records
• provide on-site and field-office support as required
• provide backup support for email administration and Google Workspace.
