Job overview

The Therapeutic Mentor — Fee-for-Service role is based in Holden, MA, with services provided wherever a child or youth needs support, including homes, community centers, and after-school programs. Pay is $25–$40 per hour. Northeast Family Services provides services to children and families and offers a flexible work week. The mentor provides positive role modeling and helps children and youth practice age-appropriate social, behavioral, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. The role builds on each young person’s strengths and supports applying new skills in everyday settings.

What you'll do

• Provide positive role modeling
• help children and youth identify and use their strengths
• support learning and practice of positive, age-appropriate interactions with peers and adults
• help youth apply new skills at home and in community settings
• provide mentoring where the child or youth encounters difficulties.

Why this role

Qualification pathways include a bachelor’s degree in a human services field, an associate’s degree plus one year of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/GED plus two years of relevant experience; must be at least 21 and have a valid driver’s license and reliable access to a car.
