The Medical Assistant role is onsite in Altamonte Springs and/or Maitland, FL, and is full-time. Compensation is $20–$25 per hour. The role supports Altamonte & Maitland Dermatology’s clinical practice and patient care. The assistant supports providers across clinical, surgical, patient-communication, and administrative work so visits and procedures can proceed smoothly. The role also helps patients understand procedures and care instructions while supporting accurate records, specimen handling, and practice operations.

What you'll do

• Assist providers with office surgical procedures, prepare and administer local anesthetic, dress surgical wounds, and remove sutures
• perform patient intake and take histories
• complete real-time charting, medication reconciliation, and prescription support
• decontaminate and sterilize instruments
• label specimens and coordinate lab or biopsy processing
• explain procedures, obtain informed consent, and educate patients
• make biopsy-result callbacks and coordinate medication requests
• schedule appointments, check patients in and out, verify insurance, assist with prior authorizations, and prepare and restock rooms.
