This role is the top-tier technical expert for Interstate Waste Services, responsible for advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, and complete rebuilds of fleet equipment. This position sets the standard for safety, quality, and productivity in the shop. The technician serves as a technical leader, providing training and coaching to other mechanics while partnering with maintenance leadership to drive fleet uptime and ensure full regulatory compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA standards.

What you'll do

• Lead diagnosis and resolution of complex engine performance and emissions issues
• repair CAN-bus and multiplex electrical systems
• perform advanced hydraulics repairs
• execute major component work including engine, transmission, and differential rebuilds
• serve as a technical resource for other technicians
• provide on-the-job training and quality checks
• analyze failure trends and recommend PM interval changes
• ensure compliance with all environmental and safety regulations
• partner with operations to minimize downtime
• plan daily shop workload
• assist in specifying parts and evaluating vendor options.
