- Cross-train in operating room and pre/post-op roles
- assess patient understanding and provide perioperative teaching
- perform perioperative nursing management
- assess patients before surgery and prepare the operating room and supplies
- provide care across age groups and administer medications safely
- position patients appropriately
- perform surgical preparation
- handle equipment and specimens according to policy
- ensure emergency supplies are available
- maintain clean, stocked suites
- participate in medical-record QAPI and quality improvement
- maintain professional relationships with physicians and patients.
