IT Security Consultant — SIEM

The IT Security Consultant — SIEM role is hybrid, onsite three days per week at the Keystone Building in Harrisburg, PA. Compensation is $50–$61 per hour. The role provides hands-on technical support for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s SIEM environment. The consultant engineers and maintains security monitoring capabilities that support threat detection, incident response, and log management. The work strengthens the platform and equips SOC analysts and incident response personnel with technical tools and investigative capabilities.

What you'll do

• Engineer, configure, maintain, and optimize the enterprise SIEM platform, including Splunk
• onboard and manage log data sources
• develop correlation searches, alerts, dashboards, reports, and detection rules
• integrate SIEM with security tools and enterprise systems
• monitor platform health and troubleshoot issues
• tune detection logic
• support SOC analysts and incident response
• assist with upgrades, patches, testing, and documentation
• collaborate with technical teams and follow Commonwealth security and change-management requirements.
