Facilities Electrical CAD Designer

Job overview

The Facilities Electrical CAD Designer role is onsite in North Chicago, IL, on a full-time first-shift schedule of 40 hours per week. Target pay is $50 per hour on W-2. The designer provides drafting support to the Facilities Engineering department. The role develops and maintains engineering drawings, primarily for electrical and controls schematics, building automation systems, and fire protection documentation. Working with engineering subject-matter experts, the designer updates drawings from markups and field information and applies internal drawing and documentation standards.

What you'll do

• Develop, revise, and maintain engineering drawings using AutoCAD
• create and modify electrical and controls drawings and schematics
• support building automation and fire protection documentation
• update drawings using engineering changes, field information, redlines, and subject-matter expert input
• develop layouts for laboratories and equipment
• support 2D drawings and applicable 3D layouts
• maintain drawings in document management processes
• coordinate with engineering specialists and apply internal standards.
