The Public Health Policy Intern — Spring 2027 role is hybrid, with some in-person work at the Children’s Law Center office in Washington, DC. Children’s Law Center provides legal services to children and families in DC and works to improve systems affecting children. The intern supports the Policy Program’s work on local policy, legislation, funding, and programs for children. Research, analysis, writing, and participation in policy and legislative activities contribute to recommendations concerning children’s public behavioral health services.

What you'll do

• Support research, literature reviews, and writing on health policy issues
• attend external meetings and DC Council legislative meetings and committee hearings
• assist with drafting memos and written testimony
• contribute to oversight activities related to local agency performance and budgets. Responsibilities may vary.
