The Security Alarm Monitoring Specialist role is onsite at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA; pay is $24–$25 per hour. The position supports the Naval Sea Systems Alarm Monitoring Point security mission and government operations through Chenega MIOS and Astraeus Operations. The specialist monitors intrusion detection, CCTV, and access control systems; assesses alarms; coordinates responses; verifies access; and maintains logs and records. The role supports continuous security operations at a high-security facility and requires a Secret clearance.

What you'll do

• Operate and monitor intrusion detection, CCTV, and automated access control systems
• assess alarms and coordinate responses through the Radio Dispatch Center
• verify clearance and authorize restricted-area entry
• maintain alarm, surveillance, and communication logs
• handle calls and communications equipment
• organize documentation and supply requisitions
• support security incidents and events
• work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
