The Head Start Substitute I role is onsite in Saint Johns, AZ, and pays $15.30 per hour for up to 35 hours per week. The position supports continuity of care and classroom services for enrolled children in the Head Start program. When a regular staff member is absent, the substitute helps maintain classroom supervision, children’s health and safety, and program operations. The role supports learning activities, family engagement, required documentation, and meal service in accordance with program standards.

What you'll do

• Welcome families and support attendance activities
• assist with classroom and outdoor activities and active supervision
• support learning environments and positive guidance
• assist the teacher with lesson plans and curriculum activities
• collect child observations and work
• complete documentation and follow mandatory child-abuse reporting protocols
• assist with food preparation and meal service, screenings, and parent-teacher conferences.
