What you'll do

• Collect blood, urine, throat swabs, and nasal swabs
• verify requisitions and patient identity using two approved identifiers
• perform venipunctures and capillary sticks using aseptic technique
• maintain specimen requirements and integrity
• coordinate timed tests
• accession and process specimens
• prepare reference-lab specimens and requisitions
• resolve ambiguous orders with appropriate personnel
• monitor laboratory information system status and logs
• distribute reports to ordering providers and facilities.
