Survey Technician

Job overview

The Survey Technician role is onsite in Youngstown, OH, primarily in the field with occasional office responsibilities and travel to project locations. Compensation is $25.00–$37.00 per hour. The role supports Verdantas’ surveying team in a collaborative, safety-focused environment. This position assists field crews in collecting accurate survey information and preparing supporting materials. By operating and maintaining survey instruments, organizing data, and following project standards and safety procedures, the technician helps provide reliable information for survey and project leadership.

What you'll do

• Assist with field surveys of land features, property boundaries, elevations, and topography
• operate total stations, GPS/GNSS units, and levels
• support instrument setup, calibration, and maintenance
• collect, record, and organize survey data
• assist with reports, maps, drawings, and documentation
• follow surveying standards, project specifications, quality-control procedures, and safety requirements
• communicate observations and potential issues to the Survey Crew Chief or Lead Surveyor.
