Water Distribution Controller

The Water Distribution Controller role is onsite in Bentonville, AR. Pay is $22.04–$24.24 per hour. The position supports the City of Bentonville’s water distribution system and public-health-related water quality requirements. The controller helps operate and maintain water storage and distribution equipment, monitor system conditions, and maintain water quality. The work supports reliable water service through system monitoring, facility inspections, sampling, and maintenance.

What you'll do

• Assist with supervisory control of the water distribution system through SCADA
• monitor and regulate water distribution and quality
• assist with operation and maintenance of pump stations and storage facilities
• collect monthly bacteriological samples
• record flows, pressures, residuals, and trends
• inspect facilities and perform preventive maintenance
• and assist customers, engineers, and developers with water distribution information. Participate in a rotational standby schedule and overtime as needed
• respond to assigned duties during citywide emergencies.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED and 2–5 years of related experience or training. Must have a valid driver’s license, possess or be able to obtain a Class IV Water Distribution Operator License, maintain a personal telephone for emergency call-outs, and reside within 30 minutes of the Water Utilities Office.
