Clinical Scribe Ophthalmology

Job overview

The Clinical Scribe role is onsite in Warren, MI, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; travel to the Farmington location is required. Compensation is not specified. The role works alongside physicians in an ophthalmology practice. The scribe documents patient encounters and supports clinical visits through patient intake, eye testing, room preparation, and assistance with minor in-office procedures as directed. Accurate records and patient support help physicians conduct examinations and maintain continuity of care.

What you'll do

• Bring patients to and from exam rooms
• document patient workups and physician comments in the electronic medical record
• complete encounter forms based on diagnoses
• apply eye drops as directed
• assist physicians chairside and administer ordered treatment as allowed
• review care instructions
• collect patient histories
• check visual acuity and examine eyes
• perform listed tests and measurements
• measure intraocular pressure
• read eyeglass prescriptions with automated lensometry
• prepare exam rooms
• maintain HIPAA confidentiality
• answer general patient questions using basic knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms, and ocular medications.
