Security Officer

Job overview

The Security Officer role is onsite in Long Beach, CA, at a center operating 24/7; the officer must be available to work any shift and day of the week. Pay is $20 per hour. The officer works in the Safety and Security Department and reports to the Senior Security Officer. The role supports safety, security, and student accountability across the center. Through patrols, checks, incident response, reporting, and assistance to visitors and staff, the officer helps maintain a secure environment for center activities.

What you'll do

• Enforce applicable laws, rules, and policies
• patrol assigned areas and watch for disturbances, fires, hazards, and suspicious activity
• assist visitors, students, and staff
• conduct building security and safety checks
• investigate complaints and vehicle accidents
• issue visitor passes and parking permits
• prepare reports and briefings
• support security cadet training
• and assist with safety, fire prevention, and student accountability. A high school diploma or equivalent and a valid state driver’s license are required.
