What you'll do

• Maintain electronic medical records and document unusual perioperative events
• provide preoperative instructions and customized discharge education
• make follow-up calls
• develop patient-specific plans and advocate for patients
• communicate during handoffs
• apply perioperative and ophthalmic nursing principles
• administer medications safely
• participate in medication checks and supply inventory
• follow infection-control and emergency-preparedness procedures.
