Licensed Veterinary Technician

Job overview

The Licensed Veterinary Technician role is onsite in Virginia Beach, VA, and pays $26–$30 per hour, commensurate with licensure and experience. Bay Beach Veterinary Hospital is a busy multi-doctor general practice with visiting echocardiogram and advanced ultrasound specialists. The technician provides advanced clinical support to veterinarians and the medical support team while helping maintain patient-care standards, safety, and efficient operations. The role also mentors team members and supports client communication and continuity of care.

What you'll do

• Coach, mentor, and train veterinary technicians and assistants
• assist with hiring and onboarding
• support staff scheduling
• assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgery
• perform venipuncture, intubation, anesthesia induction and monitoring, dental prophylaxis, and laboratory diagnostics
• administer prescribed medications and vaccines
• operate and maintain diagnostic equipment
• maintain medical records and charge capture
• support inventory and vendor relations
• educate clients and help address questions and concerns.
