The Nutritionist II role is onsite in Joplin, MO. Pay is $22.73–$28.39 per hour. The position supports the City of Joplin’s Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. The nutritionist assesses participant health and nutritional risks, provides nutrition and breastfeeding education, and coordinates services and referrals. The work supports WIC eligibility, participant health needs, and delivery of program benefits in accordance with state policies and procedures.

What you'll do

• Conduct dietary, biochemical, medical, and anthropometric assessments for WIC certification and recertification
• explain risk factors
• coordinate nutrition and breastfeeding services
• provide counseling and high-risk care plans
• provide breastfeeding education and support
• recommend supplemental foods and formulas
• prescribe food packages and issue benefits
• refer participants to community services
• review nutrition education plans and materials
• coordinate with WIC staff
• maintain confidential records.

Why this role

Requires specified nutrition-related education or an eligible dietetics credential, two years of professional WIC experience as a registered or licensed dietitian with the State of Missouri, and a valid driver’s license.
