Technical Design Assistant

Job overview

The Technical Design Assistant role is onsite in San Francisco, CA, five days per week. Compensation is $25–$28 per year as stated in the posting. Short Story creates apparel for petite women and focuses on fit and craftsmanship. This role helps translate design concepts into production-ready styles by supporting the product development and fit process. The assistant prepares technical packs, measures samples, coordinates fittings, records fit feedback, and maintains development data to support accurate execution and speed to market.

What you'll do

• Measure development fit samples against technical specifications and flag deviations
• assist with initial tech packs and update tech packs and bills of materials
• prepare weekly fittings and take fit-session notes
• support execution of fit comments through notes, technical sketches, and data entry
• maintain WIP and fit-note trackers
• monitor deadlines and workflow
• track, organize, and maintain fit samples
• support team efficiency and speed to market.
