The Marine Tankerman role is an onsite position based in Texas City, TX. This role supports the Tankering Services Group at Marathon Petroleum, an energy industry leader, by ensuring the safe and efficient transfer of liquid products on barges. The role exists to conduct barge transfers in accordance with company procedures and USCG regulations. The Marine Tankerman is responsible for troubleshooting and performing minor maintenance on barges, ensuring that all transfer operations are completed safely and effectively in various weather conditions.

What you'll do

• Conduct barge transfers based on MPC’s procedures and all applicable USCG regulations/guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on barges.
• Proficient in all phases of barge transfers, including heater operation on hot oil barges.
• Maintain records and document all transfer times to be turned into the office in a timely manner.
• Maintain uniforms and equipment necessary for transfers in good, clean condition so as to be ready and available for each barge transfer.
