What you'll do

• Review charts for diagnoses and procedures
• contact physicians when documentation needs clarification
• ensure coding summaries are supported by physician documentation
• assign and sequence ICD-10-CM/PCS codes according to guidelines and regulations
• use computerized coding and abstracting equipment
• meet the stated 95% accuracy standard
• support data quality and allowable reimbursement
• and serve as a coding and HIM resource for hospital staff.
