Steward — Part-Time

The Steward role is an onsite, part-time position at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ. Pay is $16–$17 per hour. Culinaire provides food and beverage management services at cultural venues, including performing theaters, and emphasizes food quality and service. The steward maintains clean and orderly kitchen work areas and equipment, supporting safe and sanitary food service. Duties include washing dishes and equipment, operating cleaning machines, handling waste, moving supplies, and assisting with banquet or front-of-house setup as requested. Night and weekend availability is required; days and hours may vary.

What you'll do

• Clean kitchen work areas and equipment
• sweep and mop floors
• operate dishwashers, sanitizers, trash compactors, and glass crushers
• wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and food-preparation equipment
• remove waste
• transfer supplies
• assist with banquet and front-of-house setup as requested
• follow sanitation and safety requirements.
