The Software Engineer, Embedded & Flight Systems role is onsite in Jacksonville, FL. Compensation is not specified. The engineer supports development of Star Catcher’s space-to-space power-beaming spacecraft and orbital power grid, designed to provide energy to spacecraft wirelessly. The role develops and validates real-time embedded software for spacecraft payloads and subsystems, integrating software with hardware and supporting testing and mission-system integration. Its work contributes to the software and operational performance of Star Catcher’s space infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Implement and validate real-time embedded software for spacecraft payload and subsystem control
• develop hardware-software interfaces, device drivers, middleware, APIs, board support packages, and health reporting
• build automated unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop tests
• support fault-injection and environmental test campaigns
• implement communications interfaces such as SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, RS-422, and, where applicable, SpaceWire and CCSDS
• support integration and testing across mission computing and memory systems
• participate in design and architecture reviews.
