What you'll do

• Analyze purchasing data and establish price objectives
• qualify vendors, obtain and evaluate quotes, negotiate terms, and recommend suppliers
• prepare requests for proposals and bid packages
• follow awards through order completion
• resolve supplier issues involving damage, rejected materials, returns, cancellations, and engineering changes
• maintain purchase-order documentation and accurate MRP and shortage-reporting data
• coordinate with Engineering, Planning, and Program Managers
• monitor supplier delivery and quality
• conduct supplier visits and desk audits
• develop vendors and alternate sources.
