Early Childhood Substitute

The Early Childhood Substitute role is onsite in Ithaca, NY. Pay is $19 per hour. Coddington Road Community Center provides an early childhood program governed by New York State child care regulations and center policies. The substitute supports children’s supervision, learning, and development, either as a one-to-one aide, third teacher, or substitute for regular teaching staff. The role helps maintain a safe, supportive classroom and encourages self-regulation, social skills, and self-esteem.

What you'll do

• Assist with child supervision and implement lesson plans and activities
• promote self-regulation and positive attitudes toward learning
• follow routines for health and safety
• provide individualized support as assigned
• monitor groups, headcounts, attendance, and meals
• comply with New York State child care regulations and center policies
• attend scheduled staff meetings and training
• collaborate with staff and maintain professional confidentiality.
