What you'll do

• Deliver and evaluate respiratory care for subacute patients
• manage and monitor continuous mechanical ventilation and wean patients according to established procedures when indicated
• document therapeutic and diagnostic activities
• assess respiratory care orders and develop care plans
• participate in patient rounds and provide respiratory-care guidance to the healthcare team
• explain procedures to patients and families
• respond to emergencies and cardiopulmonary arrests
• and check, maintain, and quality-control respiratory equipment.
