The Teacher Assistant role is an onsite, full-time position in Washington, DC. Pay is $23.43 per hour for candidates with a Child Development Associate credential or $24.80 per hour for candidates with an associate degree in Early Childhood Education. The role supports V-Tech Solutions’ Early Learning Center, which provides early childhood education and early intervention in an inclusive setting. The assistant works with teachers and staff to support children’s learning, development, safety, and daily needs. By helping deliver classroom activities, routines, supervision, and care, the role contributes to a positive and inclusive learning environment for children with and without disabilities.

What you'll do

• Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate classroom activities and daily instruction
• assume classroom responsibility when the teacher is absent
• facilitate small-group learning
• supervise and care for preschool children
• assist with dressing, toileting, transitions, and other daily needs
• maintain a safe, clean classroom
• follow health and safety procedures
• communicate with parents and document communications
• participate in meetings, training, and professional development
• support children with developmental, behavioral, and physical needs.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma and CDA credential or an associate degree in Early Childhood Education. Candidates must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination before their first day. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, with shifts of 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 8:30 AM–5:30 PM.
