The Direct Support Professional role is onsite in Fairfax, VA, with pay of $19 per hour plus a $1 weekend differential during the stated Saturday 8 a.m. to Sunday 11 p.m. period. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.–9 p.m., and Monday and Tuesday, 3 p.m.–11 p.m. Community Living Alternatives supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in homes, apartments, and the community. The professional helps individuals participate in safe, meaningful activities and build skills and relationships. The role assesses activity and environmental risks, provides appropriate support, and communicates about activities and safety while encouraging individuals to advocate for and pursue joy as independently as possible.

What you'll do

• Support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in activities and community engagement
• assess activities and spaces for physical and emotional risks
• provide necessary support
• communicate verbally and in writing about activities and safety
• help individuals find, engage in, and advocate for joyful experiences as independently as possible.
