Field Technician (L2) – Data Centers

The Field Technician (L2) – Data Centers role is onsite in Huntsville, AL, with pay of $27–$31 per hour. Fieldwork may include overtime, weekends, holidays, and off-hours, and travel may be required based on business needs. The role supports installation services in live, mission-critical data center environments. The technician independently installs and troubleshoots structured cabling and connectivity systems while meeting technical, safety, quality assurance, and quality control standards. The role also documents assigned work, coordinates with project stakeholders, and mentors L1 Field Trainee Technicians.

What you'll do

• Perform installation and cabling work, including routing, terminating, labeling, and testing copper and fiber optic cabling
• complete rack-and-stack operations, patch panel installations, and cable dressing
• troubleshoot fiber and twisted-pair failures and physical connectivity issues
• read cable maps, schematics, and floor layouts
• maintain documentation, asset tracking, and service reports
• support QA/QC
• follow data center safety, security, and change management procedures
• mentor L1 Field Trainee Technicians
• respond to onsite service requests.
