Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist role is an onsite position located in Dell Rapids, SD. , and this role supports the cardiopulmonary department at Avera Dells Area Health Hospital. This role exists to provide assessment, treatment, and management of cardiopulmonary conditions for patients ranging from neonates to adults. The therapist performs diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, including ventilator management and blood gas analysis, to improve patient outcomes as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

What you'll do

• Evaluates and interprets physician orders for respiratory treatments.
• Documents patient progress in the electronic medical record.
• Performs oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and airway clearance.
• Manages invasive and non-invasive ventilators.
• Assists in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency airway care.
• Conducts diagnostic tests including EKG and pulmonary function tests.
